At the end of September, six students of the excellence program of ILS, together with lecturers Rudy van Belkom and Bodil Jurg, visited the London Design Fair. They were invited by the Dutch Embassy in London to give trend tours at the fair. For seven years in a row students of the excellence program hosted trend tours during the Dutch Design Week at Strijp-S in Eindhoven. ‘This special invitation from London felt like a cherry on the cake’, says Van Belkom. ‘For most visitors art and design projects are inspiring but only a few actually grasp the underlying meaning. That’s why our students linked the most innovative designs of LDF exhibitors to the major trends that are currently affecting our society.’ Curious? During the Dutch Design Week, from 21 to 29 October in Eindhoven, visitors can also take part in trend tours of our students. The most innovative designs of DDW exhibitors are linked to the most important trends that are currently taking place in society.
