Ambiente 2017: trendtour & trendbook

In februari our students always visit Ambiente in the Messe Frankfurt. We proudly present the Trend Book of Ambiente 2017. Nine ambitious students from International Lifestyle Studies a bachelor program at the Fontys Academy for Creative Industries in Tilburg, the Netherlands. The program focuses on trend research and concept development. The junior professional researchers specialise in spotting changes in society. Based on the insights this research provides, they develop future proof products and services that aim to improve the quality of life. Successful alumni event

Approximately 70 former students and teachers from ILS met last week in Bank15 in Tilburg for the fourth Alumni Event. The programme included a presentation by Tom Palmaerts, owner of trendbureau Trendwolves. The Flemish trendwatcher told how he himself found his way into the world of trends after his studies. Second speaker was lecturer Els Dragt. She presented her book How To Research Trends in an original way. After that, Cécile Cremer, one of the first ILS alumni and founder of the Future Union, was said goodbye. According to Talisa Ong, who has taken over her role, for graduates, the Future Union contributes to their development as a young professional, which is important.

DDW trend tours: 360˚ aftermovie

During the last edition of the Dutch Design Week, students of ILS arranged various trend tours on a daily basis. As in previous years, the trend tours were very popular. Second-year students of ILS linked innovative designs by DDW exhibitors to the most important trends in society. Watch this 360˚ impression of a trend tour. Use your mouse to look around!
