Trendbook London 2017

This year we were invited by the Dutch Embassy in London. We were invited to be part of the Dutch Stuff area at the London Design Fair and do what we do best, trend tours. With a group of six students we made our way to London with our two already written trend books. At the LDF we walked around for one day to spot the manifestations of our trends. On the Saturday we walked four trends tours and we made a little book with a recap of the trends and manifestations. Click on the picture for the trend book.

Femke Pluijm wins Gouden Meesterproef

ILS student Femke Pluijm developed a concept for the municipality of Tilburg as a graduation project, in which 'statushouders' are linked to a guide. She shows them the way in the world of aid organisations. She won the Golden Master's thesis, a prize for the best graduation thesis. She came up with the idea for the concept after her minor in the Brazilian city of Curitiba. There, together with fellow students, she came up with a concept for people living below the poverty line, in order to provide them with a safer life and to involve them more in social life. She then realised that in the Netherlands there are also people who have difficulties. She developed her concept for 'statushouders'

ILS and Trendpit joined forces again

Last July Trendpit visited Mercedes Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam (MBFWA) for the 8th time in a row. For the last four years, the team has reported every MBFWA show and event. This year too, a diverse collection of designers showed their creations, fueling our brains with new inspiration. We’ve written about trends, society and designers, but never about ourselves. So who are those faces behind Trendpit? Read on and find out! Since 2014 we’ve had the pleasure to work with over 25 ILS students. Every year, taking fresh minds to the Westergas terrain is a little party. And apparently, our members like celebrating that party too, because some of them have joined us during six FashionWeeks already.

A bright future for graduates ILS

Powerful concepts that provide the world with new, positive energy. With these, 73 graduates of Fontys International Lifestyle Studies obtained their degree. Last week they presented their graduation work during an impressive Graduation Show in Concertzaal Tilburg to the business community. They can face the future with confidence. Of all graduates, 85 percent now have a job. According to education manager Anja Sparidaans ILS is a household name in the Netherlands. A New Energy, the theme of the Graduation Show, was not chosen randomly. ‘The ambition of our students is to develop concepts that make the world a better place. These are future-proof, they correspond to the needs of society.’ Li
